From spots and stripes to speckled patterns and maze-like designs, extraordinary markings can be found in abundance throughout the natural world. Animals adorn themselves with unique patterning for a variety of reasons – to blend into their environment to avoid predation, to send a warning signal, to attract mates and even to regulate their temperature. With many of the species featured within this collection at risk or endangered, we want to shine a light on these incredible animals and raise awareness of threats to the security of their future.
